PATIENT SERVICES

At Sacred Heart Community Clinic, we want every patient to feel informed, supported, and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors. Below you’ll find a clear overview of the services we offer, what to expect, and important details about our scope of care. All services are provided with dignity and compassion.

I understand that my medical services may be provided by a volunteer physician, advanced practice provider, or nurse. Our providers are fully licensed to practice in the State of Texas. By receiving services, you consent to receive treatment from a volunteer provider.

Basic Services are FREE

At times, your provider may refer you to outside ‘Third-Party Providers’ to assist in the diagnosis of your symptoms. While most of these are free with our partners, there may be times when the cost of these services must be shared with the patient. We have agreements in place for highly discounted services from these providers. These costs are set by the ‘Third-Party Provider’ and not SHCC. We can accept payment for those services and submit payment to the ‘Third-Party Provider’ on your behalf to receive the highly discounted rate. SHCC does not charge any fee nor receive any payment from the provider for this service (Credit Card Fees may apply when using a credit card).

Donations are greatly appreciated. SHCC can process debit and credit cards. Your donations keep our doors open for future services.

Basic Medical Services (Adults ONLY)

We provide care for a variety of common medical concerns and ongoing health conditions. Our volunteer and staff clinicians are here to help adults manage everyday health needs and stay on track with long-term wellness.

General medical problems for adults include:

Acute Care:
Fever, stomach ache, runny nose, cough, chills, sudden headache, ear pain or infection, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, UTI, minor injuries, minor rashes, and similar concerns.

Chronic Care:
Diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, thyroid maintenance, stable asthma/COPD (no oxygen therapy or maintenance), acid reflux, abdominal pain, limited depression/anxiety, stable cardiac conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, back pain (no narcotics or narcotic pain control).

Additional Services:

  • Annual Well Women’s Exam which includes a pap smear and an order for a free screening mammogram (NO GYN services)
  • Nutrition Counseling
  • Laboratory Services
  • Diabetic Education
  • Limited Medicines – provided free or at low cost

Services Not Provided

To ensure safety and proper continuity of care, the clinic is not able to provide treatment for the following:

  • STD’s
  • Emergency care
  • Bipolar, schizophrenia, psychosis, Alzheimer’s
  • Post stroke except after cleared by a neurologist
  • Post Myocardial Infarction (heart attack) only after cardiology clearance
  • Lupus, HIV, Hepatitis C, Liver cirrhosis
  • Uncontrolled Cardiac Arrhythmias, Uncompensated Congestive Heart Failure
  • Chronic Kidney disease stage 4 or stage 5
  • Complicated Health Issues
  • Birth control
  • Prenatal care
  • Abortions
  • Workman’s compensation cases or accidents

Note: We do not prescribe narcotics, or handle chronic pain management.

Dental Services

SHCC Dental services are only available to established patients in good standing. If you are interested in being considered, ask your provider to be added to the waitlist.
